Defunct Speedway Tracks - Wembley

NO Defunct speedway track was probably loved as much as Wembley was. To be at the massive Empire Stadium on a big speedway night was something else.
For those who were lucky enough to witness league racing back in the 40s and early 50s it must have been awesome!
Wembley witnessed some exciting World Final nights, but this is more about the history of the WEMBLEY LIONS.
We go in search of Sir Arthur Elvin the clubs founding father and take a peek at some of the Lions best years, 1952 and their re-birth under Trevor Redmond in 1970.
From Van Praag to Price, from the Williams brothers, Freddie and Eric to Fundin, we take a look at some of the Lions greats who pulled on the famous red and white in this our 19th issue.
Grab your piece of Wembley’s unique atmosphere with this nostalgia filled production.
