BACK in the late 60s speedway arrived in the Berkshire town of Reading and it wasn’t long before the Racers had carved out a rather special name for themselves in speedway history.

 The 1973 side won the British League and almost added the KO Cup to boot, with such star studded names as Anders Michanek, Dag Lovaas and Geoff Curtis.

 There were the Racers English contingent too, Dickie May, Mick Bell and Bernie Leigh to name but three.
