1978 - The Speedway Years

THE latest issue of ‘The Speedway Years’ - 1978 is now out and on sale. It was a year for all Coventry fans to savour in that the Bees clinched their second BL title and skipper Ole Olsen re-gained his World Crown in the Golden Jubilee Final at Wembley.
 Canterbury proved the National League’s best and Eastbourne won the KO Cup, while Ipswich triumphed in the Speedway Star sponsored British League equivalent.
 We review the whole campaign and see how the Lions fared in the winter series in Australia while their was a rather special occasion at Hackney in February that saw the final appearance of the legendary Jack Parker.
